Educating Rita by Willy Russell

	THE CAST

			RITA - Gillian Budd Trained at the Royal Academy of Music and Arts Educational, both in London. Gillian has recently returned from Geneva where she played Rita in Educating Rita. She immediately followed this with a trip to her native Scotland to play Jan in Balloons as part of Cameron Mackintosh's Highland Quest for a new musical. Prior to this she spent two years understudying and playing the role of Cosette in Les Miserables (Palace & Queens Theatres, London). During this time she was lucky enough to perform a concert version of the show for the Queen and French President Jacques Chirac at Windsor Castle. Other theatre credits include Desire in Jason And the Argonauts, Brenda in Brenda Bly: Teen Detective, A Grand Night For Singing, and Peggy Patch in Playdays. Gillian also appeared in the Gala Concert Elton John Live at the Royal Opera House (Covent Garden) for the BBC. Back
